LEXUS FIRST DIVE INTO EVs

The luxury arm of Toyota motors has now revealed its EV concept car- The LF-Z, which is expected to be on roads in 4 years time. it would not only be working on the LF-Z, but 19 others whose power features ranges between hybrid, plug-in hybrid and pure electric propulsion.

The LF-Z has a really unique exterior without door handles and side mirrors which instead have been replaced with a touch sensor that activates the motorized door handle to pull-out and side cameras that would refuse the door opening when a car is detected to be coming along.

Also, the roofing would be made of electrochromic glass that could appear as a shade when needed or be opaque for sunlight inflow and illumination.

Its cabin would be able to sit 4 persons while being steered by a technology known as steer-by-wire in which no mechanical connection would be between the steering wheel itself and the wheeling system. It is expected to be powered by a 90kwh lithium-ion battery pack with a 373 miles (600km) range and 150 kW charging support.

The EV would run on a Direct4 setup and is expected to weigh about 4630 pounds (2100kg) while reaching a top speed of 124mph (200 km/h) with the possibility of a 62mph (100 km/h) acceleration just in 3 seconds.

The eco-friendly models are all expected to hit the market by 2025.
